Sedition Case Registered Against Khawaja Mehran

ISLAMABAD: A formal sedition case has been registered against Khawaja Mehran, a key leader spearheading the disruptive activities of the banned Joint Awami Action Committee, following his hateful speeches against the Pakistan Armed Forces and a propaganda campaign allegedly orchestrated by foreign handlers.

The legal action stems from a public address delivered by Khawaja Mehran on the afternoon of Friday, June 19, 2026.

During the gathering, he directly targeted government employees and military personnel originating from Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), explicitly inciting them to mutiny and defect from the Pakistan Army.

Authorities have classified his rhetoric as a blatant conspiracy to compromise the internal security of both Pakistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir, with investigations pointing to linkages with hostile anti-state elements.

Consequently, a first information report (FIR) has been lodged against Khawaja Mehran under Section 124-A of the Azad Penal Code (APC) for sedition.
