QUETTA: Security forces foiled a major terrorist incident in the town of Mach after successfully detecting and neutralizing an improvised explosive device (IED).
According to reports, the IED was planted in a strategic area with the intent to cause mass casualties. But the security forces acted timely and a bomb disposal unit was dispatched to the site to dismantle the device before it could be detonated.
Security official said that the enemy’s malicious plan was thwarted through the swift and professional actions of our forces, adding that this was a calculated attempt by cowardly terrorists to destabilize the region.

The area has since been declared secure, and a search operation is underway to track down those responsible for the attempted attack.
No casualties or property damage were reported in the incident.
