QUETTA: According to security sources, Pakistani security forces successfully foiled a major terrorist attack in Kharaan district of Balochistan through a timely and effective operation.
Sources report that at the very start of the operation, four terrorists were eliminated on the spot.
Following the initial exchange of fire, several terrorists attempted to flee the area.
Security forces immediately launched a pursuit and later neutralized them in targeted follow-up operations.
During the operation, three key terrorists were arrested, including one highly wanted militant.
Security sources further revealed that a total of 38 to 40 terrorists were involved in the attack, a significant number of whom were foreign nationals (Afghan).
As a result of multiple encounters and counter-terrorism actions at different locations, approximately 12 terrorists were killed overall.
During the operation, five security personnel sustained injuries; however, no casualties were reported.
Search and clearance operations are currently ongoing in the area, and security sources have confirmed that the operation will continue until all terrorist elements are completely eliminated.
