Security forces neutralize Afghan terrorist in Khyber operation

KHYBER: The security forces conducted a successful intelligence-based operation in the Tirah Valley of Khyber district, neutralizing an Afghan national involved in terrorist activities.

The individual was identified as Junaidullah, son of Daulat Khan, a resident of Afghanistan. The forces recovered an Afghan identity card, heavy weaponry, a mobile phone, and a laser device from his possession.

In this regard, the officials stated that the recovery of these items indicates the suspect’s involvement in planned militant activities targeting security personnel and civilian populations in the region.

The seized weaponry and technological equipment are being analyzed to assess their potential use in terrorist operations.

Furthermore, the security forces focused on the fact that the neutralized terrorist had links with cross-border networks operating from Afghanistan, which have repeatedly attempted to destabilize Pakistan through infiltration and armed aggression.

They noted that this action underlines Pakistan’s continued resolve to secure its borders and eliminate threats posed by external militant elements.

In this sense, there has been an uptick in counter-terrorism operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly in districts bordering Afghanistan.

So far, the local residents expressed relief over the successful operation, noting that the presence of militants in the Tirah Valley has long posed a threat to peace and security in the area.

Meanwhile, the incident also comes against the backdrop of Pakistan’s ongoing concerns over cross-border terrorism originating from Afghan soil.

In addition, the security forces reasserted their determination to maintain peace and stability, stating that any attempt to disrupt law and order will be dealt with firmly.
