JOHAN: The security forces successfully foiled a major terrorist attack after neutralizing a 100-kilogram improvised explosive device (IED) planted by militants.
The explosive device was discovered during a routine search operation in the region, which has witnessed sporadic incidents of violence in recent months.
The IED, believed to have been planted by militants associated with the banned FAH group, was intended to cause vital casualties and damage to civilian life and property.
Furthermore, a bomb disposal unit (BDU) was immediately dispatched to the site upon detection of the device.
The team carried out a controlled detonation, ensuring the safety of nearby residents and preventing what could have been a devastating attack.

On the contrary, the law enforcement agencies commended the alertness and professionalism of the security personnel involved, noting that the swift action not only saved lives but also demonstrated the forces’ continued vigilance in maintaining peace and stability in the province.
In this sense, the government representatives have launched an investigation to trace those responsible for planting the device.
The preliminary reports suggest that the IED was part of a broader terror plot aimed at disrupting peace and targeting civilians in the region.
Recently, the same IED device was defused by security forces in Tump in order avoid the major terror attack in Balochistan. Balochistan has long faced security challenges due to the presence of separatist and militant outfits.
However, recent coordinated efforts by security agencies have led to significant successes in thwarting terror plots and improving stability across the region.
