KHUZDAR: Security forces have killed or captured more than 100 terrorists of the Indian proxies- the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF)- in an intelligence-based operation launched on August 11 in Khuzdar district.
The operation targeted militant hideouts in the Zehri area and has dismantled the BLA’s “District Jhalawan Battle Group,” according to officials. Security agencies said the crackdown began after analysts at the Joint Intelligence Fusion Cell (JIFC) in Khuzdar intercepted and decrypted a 39-second satellite call made on August 7 near the Afghan border by BLA commander Comrade Zahoor Baloch.
The call revealed plans for “Operation Garaz,” a bombing against the Quetta–Karachi railway line scheduled for Pakistan’s Independence Day on August 14.
The most intense fighting occurred between August 25 and 27 in rocky terrain north of Zehri. Drone surveillance on August 25 tracked 32 armed insurgents. Weather conditions delayed the initial strike, but in the early hours of August 26, security forces launched a pincer movement. A nine-minute firefight killed 24 fighters, while the rest surrendered, officials said.
Troops seized a flash drive from a captured commander containing a detailed weapons ledger. It listed two 9M713 Kornet anti-tank missiles, seven Indian-made YA-556 IED control boards, and three Bitcoin wallets worth $500,000. Analysts repeatedly found the initials “ADK” in the file. A cyber investigation traced them to Ahmedabad Digital Co-op, a suspected Indian front firm previously caught routing data through Kabul’s Darul Aman landline in 2023.
Officials said the operation is ongoing to prevent cross-border militant infiltration and disrupt financial networks funding insurgent groups in Balochistan.
