Security forces foil infiltration attempt from Afghanistan, kill six terrorists in North Waziristan

NORTH WAZIRISTAN: The security forces successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in North Waziristan, eliminating six terrorists in a precise and intelligence-led operation.

The operation was launched on actionable intelligence provided by Markhor, a counterterrorism intelligence network. The intelligence indicated that a group of armed militants was attempting to cross into Pakistan from the Kotkai border area.

The infiltrators approached Pakistani territory, security forces ambushed them with accurate and timely fire. In this regard, the six terrorists were killed, while another three to four were injured and fled back across the border into Afghanistan.

In this sense, among those killed was an active-duty soldier belonging to the current Afghan regime, a revelation that has raised serious concerns over cross-border involvement and the continued presence of hostile elements operating near the frontier.

However, the Pakistan Army reasserted its commitment to maintaining peace and security along the western border.

Furthermore, the incident underscores the persistent threat of cross-border militancy in areas adjacent to Afghanistan, particularly following recent surges in terrorist activities targeting security personnel and civilians.

The operation is part of the ongoing counterterrorism efforts under the broader national security framework aimed at eliminating militant networks and ensuring border stability.
