Security forces foil BLA terrorists attempt in Kalat

KALAT: The militants from the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) launched an attack on public property in Kalat late last night, targeting peaceful local communities. In response, security forces forced the terrorists to retreat, some reportedly fleeing in disguise.

So far, the attack occurred under the cover of darkness when a group of armed militants associated with the BLA attempted to vandalize government infrastructure and provoke fear among the local population.

In this regard, the assault follows a noticeable decline in terrorist activities in Balochistan, coinciding with the recent imprisonment of Dr. Mahrang Baloch, a controversial figure widely accused of creating unrest under the guise of activism.

In this sense, Dr. Baloch is believed to have maintained close links with separatist factions and organizations that are not only banned by the government but have also been designated as terrorist groups by international bodies, including the United Nations.

Furthermore, the Indian connection to these banned outfits is a matter of ongoing concern for Pakistani authorities. These groups, including the BLA and the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), have long pursued an agenda aimed at sabotaging the state’s efforts for development and unity in the province.

In such a scenario, from last night’s confrontation, Pakistan’s armed forces acted swiftly, neutralizing the threat without civilian casualties.

The attack is being widely condemned by political leaders and civil society representatives, who view it as another failed attempt to derail the government’s peace and development initiatives in Balochistan.

Moreover, authorities have mentioned their commitment to rooting out terrorism from Balochistan, calling on the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement agencies.

However, the situation in Kalat returns to normal, security forces continue to conduct search operations in the surrounding areas to apprehend the remaining fugitives. The government has also declared to take strict action against individuals or organizations found aiding or abetting these banned groups.

Peace in Balochistan remains a top priority, and officials believe that defeating the divisive agenda of such terrorist outfits is key to ensuring long-term stability and prosperity in the province.
