KARAK: Pakistani security forces dismantled a terrorist network of banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), and arrested its two members, including a key local commander in Karak district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday.
As per details, an overnight clash broke out in the Koh-e-Maidan area of Tehsil Takht-e-Nasrati of Karak, between members of a local peace committee and affiliates of the Pakistani Taliban. Following an intense exchange of fire, the militants were forced to retreat.
The law enforcement agencies arrested their commander, Faizullah.
The Police said that two hostages were safely rescued from militant custody during the operation.
Earlier today, a Frontier Corps soldier was shot dead by armed men affiliated with the Fitna Al Khawarij in Wanda Painda Khan, Lakki Marwat district.
