LAHORE: The Punjab Police had demanded Rs 3.3 billion for the security of PSL 11 and other events in 2026.
However, the government has released only Rs 1.2 billion and instructed the police to manage within this amount.
According to police officials, a total of over Rs 3.3 billion was requested for security arrangements during PSL 11 and throughout 2026.
They had also sought nearly Rs 1 billion for pending liabilities.
For PSL alone, the police had demanded Rs 2.28 billion, but the government approved only Rs 1.2 billion.
These approved funds are not exclusively for PSL; they will also cover security for all major events, including Muharram and Rabi-ul-Awwal, as well as the repatriation of illegal Afghan nationals.
