ISLAMABAD: In light of escalating tensions between Pakistan and India, the Islamabad District Administration has planned security drills for Friday to ensure preparedness. Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon confirmed that the exercises will take place at key locations, including Centaurus Mall, Zarghoon Plaza, and Khudadad Heights.
Authorities have urged the public to remain calm during the drills, noting that sirens will be used as part of the exercise and should not cause alarm.
Meanwhile, Cambridge International Education (CIE) and the British Council have cancelled all examinations scheduled for Friday, May 9, in Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Islamabad Capital Territory, and across Punjab, citing the current regional situation.
Meanwhile The Pakistan Airports Authority has confirmed that all airports across the country remain fully operational, despite major airlines announcing suspensions of flight services. The PAA spokesperson Saifullah Khan told to media representatives, clarified that “all airports across Pakistan are open, and flight cancellations are at the discretion of each airline.”

Furthermore, this clarification comes just a day after Emirates Airlines announced a complete suspension of its operations across Pakistan until May 10, citing “ongoing uncertainty surrounding access to the country’s airspace and airports.”
