SYDNEY: In the wake of the tragic shooting incident at a Sydney beach, authorities have decided to increase security measures for the third Ashes Test match.
According to Australian media, additional security arrangements have been confirmed outside Adelaide Oval, where the match between Australia and England is scheduled to begin on December 17.
South Australia Police Commissioner Grant Stevens stated that a specially trained Security Response Section, equipped with additional firearms, will be deployed.
This unit, established a few years ago, is tasked with safeguarding public areas and will be stationed around the stadium to ensure the safety of cricket fans.
The shooting in Sydney has so far claimed 15 lives, raising nationwide security concerns ahead of major public events.
It is worth mentioning that a tragic incident took place yesterday when two men, identified as father and son, named Naveed Akram and Sajid Akram shot at a Jewish reigious ceremony on the Sydney’s Bondi beach killing 15 people and causing injuries to 40 people.
Astonishingly, the RAW-backed Indian and the Afghan media started the typical disinformation and the propagnda campaign calling the shooters as Pakistani nationals.
The Indian news outlets propagated the attacker as Sheikh Naveed, a Pakistani national residing in Australia.
However, the young Pakistani national straightaway came up with the clarity that his photo shared on the Afghan and the Indian social media was mere a false campaign of defaming Pakistan.
Moreover, the Australian police has not yet said anything about the nationality of Sajid Akram and Naveed Akram.
On the other hand, the Australian prime minister Anthony Albanese has affirmmed to carry out full investigation of the tragic incident.
While talking to the national media, he said that the people of Australia want an assurance regarding the peace and stability in future.
