Mastung administration imposes ban on pillion riding

Section 144 imposed in Mastung

MASTUNG: The district administration of Mastung has invoked section 144 banning double riding on motorcycles and wearing face masks in public starting today.

This decision comes ahead of Eid al-Azha to ensure law and order during the festive period.

According to the district authorities, the following directives have been issued:

  1. The public is strictly prohibited from covering their faces completely or wearing masks while moving in public places.
  2. Double riding on motorcycles will be banned from June 4, 2025, to June 10, 2025.

Authorities urge citizens to fully comply with these instructions to maintain peace and security.

The administration emphasized that these measures are temporary and aimed at preventing any disruption during the upcoming celebrations.

Earlier, authorities in Balochistan imposed a temporary ban on face coverings and pillion riding on motorcycles in Sorab and Nushki. The decision comes amid intensified security operations against what officials call “Fitna-ul-Hindustan.”

According to official notifications, residents can no longer wear masks or cover their faces in public. The ban takes effect immediately. It aims to help security forces identify suspects during ongoing counter-terror operations.

Motorcycle pillion riding is also banned in both cities until June 10. Officials say this step will help prevent threats and maintain order.

People have been told to avoid areas where operations are underway. In Sorab, movement restrictions will remain during the crackdown.

Authorities say these steps are temporary but crucial. They believe the measures will support the operation’s success and protect citizens.
