QUETTA: The Balochistan government imposed Section 144 across the province from 31st August to 14th September, enforcing a ban on the public display of weapons, pillion riding, and the use of vehicles with tinted glasses.
In this regard, the provincial Home and Tribal Affairs Department directed the police and district administrations to strictly enforce the restrictions in order to maintain the law and order situation. Furthermore, the ban on the exhibition of arms in public places aims to curb incidents of intimidation, unrest, and unlawful gatherings.
Similarly, pillion riding, commonly known as double riding on motorcycles, has also been prohibited. The government has also banned the use of vehicles with black-tinted glasses, stressing that such practices hinder security checks and facilitate unlawful movement.
