QUETTA: The Balochistan government has imposed Section 144 across the province, including the provincial capital Quetta, in an effort to maintain law and order and ensure public safety.
In this regard, the display of all types of weapons has been strictly prohibited throughout Balochistan. The notification further states that all kinds of public gatherings, rallies, protests, and sit-ins have been banned during the enforcement period of Section 144.
The restriction applies to public places across the province, to prevent situations that could potentially disrupt peace and order. In addition, the assembly of five or more persons at any one place has been prohibited, reinforcing the administration’s efforts to curb unlawful gatherings.
However, the government has granted exemptions to women and children, acknowledging practical and humanitarian considerations. The decision to enforce Section 144 was taken in view of the prevailing security situation and to prevent any untoward incidents.
They have appealed to the public to cooperate with the administration and law enforcement agencies by strictly adhering to the imposed restrictions. Meanwhile, the provincial government has reassured citizens that these measures are temporary and are being taken solely in the interest of public safety and stability.
