BAJAUR: The district administration of Bajaur has ordered the closure of all government, private, and community schools in the areas of Loi Mamond and Wara Mamond from August 1 to August 8, 2025, due to prevailing security concerns.
Earlier this week, the Deputy Commissioner of Bajaur had imposed a three-day curfew from July 29-31 in 16 villages of Tehsil Loi Mamond of the district to conduct counter terrorism operations against Indian proxy Fitna al Khawarij.
According to an official notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Bajaur, the decision was made in light of intelligence reports warning of possible acts of sabotage by miscreant elements. The temporary shutdown aims to safeguard the lives of students, teachers, and the general public.
The notification further stated that the decision was taken with the approval of the Chief Secretary of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Home and Tribal Affairs Department, and all relevant institutions have been informed accordingly.
District Education Officers have been directed to ensure widespread awareness of the school closures through public announcements and local communication channels to inform students, staff, and communities in affected areas.
