SRI NAGAR: A major scam has surfaced in occupied Kashmir where international cricketers were deceived under the name of a cricket tournament.
According to media reports, several foreign players were invited to participate in the so-called Indian Heaven Premier League (IHPL).
However, renowned cricketers such as Shaun Marsh and Shakib Al Hasan declined to take part despite receiving invitations.
Reports revealed that the tournament had to be postponed due to non-payment of players’ fees.
The organizers and league owners allegedly disappeared overnight without making any payments, forcing West Indies’ star batsman Chris Gayle to leave the event midway.
The initial matches were held at Srinagar’s Bakshi Stadium, but the situation deteriorated soon after.
Local police have now launched an investigation into the incident.
According to details, the Indian Heaven Premier League was scheduled to take place from October 25 to November 8.
Not only were the players left unpaid, but umpires and hotel owners also did not receive their dues.
Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association and officials from the JK Sports Council have distanced themselves from the tournament, declaring they had no connection with it.
Cricket used to be a gentlemen’s game but ever since gambling in the name of match-fixing and spot-fixing has been carried out by the Indian bookies and betting agents, the carrier of many cricketers was spoiled.
Similarly, the Indian Premier League (IPL) was genuinely launched to convert the black money of the under-world into white money, and the same money spoiled the beauty of the game.
The players of many countries opted to play for IPL instead of playing for their national teams during some important events.
India inappropriately influenced the spirit of the game and carried out many wicked practices during the ICC and the other events.
Recently , an former English cricketer and an ICC referee Chris Broad has said that he had been given special instructions during matches played by team India.
