Saudi Crown Prince, PM Shehbaz Discuss Regional Tensions in Phone Call

ISLAMABAD: Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman held a telephone call with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday, discussing regional tensions and global security, officials said.

The two leaders reviewed the evolving situation in the Middle East and its impact on international stability. Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Saudi Arabia and said Islamabad stands firmly for the kingdom’s sovereignty and security.

Separately, Mohammed bin Salman also spoke with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. The leaders discussed ongoing military tensions and their impact on the global economy and international navigation.

Starmer condemned recent attacks on Saudi territory and called them a serious threat to regional security and stability.

Meanwhile, Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s offer to host talks between Iran and the United States. In a post on X, he said Pakistan is ready to facilitate “meaningful and result-oriented” dialogue with the consent of both sides.

Sharif tagged U.S. President Donald Trump, U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff, and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in his message. Trump later shared the post.

Pakistan said it supports diplomatic efforts to ensure peace and stability in the region.
