MUMBAI: The sudden postponement of the wedding between Indian women’s cricket star Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal has triggered widespread speculation across social media.
Adding fuel to the ongoing rumours, film critic Kamaal R. Khan (KRK) has made a new claim that has further intensified the controversy.
According to earlier reports, the couple was scheduled to marry on 23 November in Sangli, Maharashtra, but the ceremony was deferred indefinitely after Mandhana’s father fell ill and was hospitalized. The unexpected announcement left fans and media outlets puzzled.
What has drawn even more attention is that Smriti Mandhana has removed all recent wedding-related photos and videos from her Instagram account, although older posts remain.
The couple had already celebrated traditional pre-wedding functions including haldi, mehndi, and sangeet clips of which had gone viral online.
These posts have now been deleted as well, giving rise to additional questions.
Meanwhile, KRK made a statement on social platform X, adding a new twist to the situation.
He claimed that Smriti allegedly witnessed Palash Muchhal in an “inappropriate situation” with a choreographer during one of the wedding events, which reportedly led to tensions between the two.
KRK further alleged that Palash was supposedly pursuing the marriage for fame.
Separately, the two have also unfollowed each other on X, further intensifying speculation.
As of now, neither Smriti Mandhana nor Palash Muchhal has issued any comment regarding the rumours or KRK’s statement.
