ISLAMABAD: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has confirmed that the upcoming negotiations between Pakistan and India will be held at a neutral location with the aim to resolve the issues between the powerful countries through dialogue.
Marco Rubio said that talks were held between Pakistani and Indian leaderships and the US Vice President within 48 hours, which included Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir.
He added that the talks included Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Foreign Minister Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
Regarding the recent tensions between the two nations, Marco Rubio said that he is happy to announce that Pakistan and India have agreed to an immediate ceasefire and talks.
He also appreciated the wisdom of Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for choosing the peace path to resolve the issues among the two South Asian countries.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said that Pakistan and India have agreed to an immediate ceasefire, Pakistan has always tried for peace and security in the region.
Dar added that Pakistan has never compromised its sovereignty and territorial integrity in its peace efforts.
Ishaq Dar further said that the ceasefire has come into effect from 4:30 pm today (Saturday).
