RTA cracks down on unregistered rickshaws in Quetta

QUETTA: On the directives of Balochistan High Court and on the special instructions of the Commissioner and Chairman of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) started a joint operation against illegal rickshaws in the provincial capital.

According to details, Secretary RTA Quetta Division Zahoor Ahmed Baloch supervised the operation, was conducted in collaboration with the Traffic Police (Sariab Circle) and RTA teams. The operation targeted unauthorized and undocumented rickshaws operating near BMC Hospital and Brewery Road.

The authorities seized 11 illegal rickshaws under Section 115 of the Motor Vehicle Ordinance, 1965, due to the absence of valid documentation. Four more rickshaws were fined for traffic violations during the crackdown.

While talking to media, Secretary Zahoor Ahmed Baloch stated that such operations will continue without discrimination to ensure safer and more reliable transportation services for the public.
