HARNAI: In Harnai, one child lost her life and two others were injured after the roof of a house collapsed.
According to details, on Tuesday, continuous rainfall caused the roof of a mud house belonging to a man named Naimat to cave in in the Talib Lez area of Harnai.
As a result, a young girl named Sursanga died on the spot, while her two sisters, Nazka and Babo, sustained injuries.
Following the incident, rescue officials reached the site and shifted the body and the injured children to the hospital.
Further proceedings are underway.
Roof collapse incidents and other accidents remain a serious concern in Balochistan, particularly during the monsoon and rainy seasons.
Many houses in remote and underdeveloped areas are constructed with mud and weak materials, making them highly vulnerable to heavy rainfall and structural failure.
As a result, roof collapses often lead to loss of life and injuries, especially among women and children.
In addition to house collapses, the province frequently witnesses accidents such as road crashes, landslides, and infrastructure failures due to poor construction standards, lack of maintenance, and limited emergency response facilities. These recurring incidents highlight the urgent need for safer housing, improved infrastructure, and timely disaster preparedness to protect lives across the region.
