Quetta: Balochistan has seen a worrying surge in traffic accidents on its highways and roads.
According to data released by Rescue 1122, from 22 October 2019 to 12 September 2025, a total of 77,826 road accidents were reported across the province.
These incidents left 103,902 people injured and claimed the lives of 1,743 individuals.
The report states that Rescue 1122 teams responded promptly to each accident, providing first aid on the spot before transferring the injured to nearby hospitals.
Those with minor injuries were treated at 1122 centers.
In addition, 28,266 people visited Rescue 1122 centers for outpatient services during the same period.
The statistics highlight the alarming rise in road accidents and their severe impact on human lives, underscoring the urgent need for authorities to improve road conditions and take immediate safety measures.
It is worth mentioning that Balochistan comes across more road accidents on average basis as compared to several other parts of the countries on account of some horrible cracks, and rough patches on the roads.
Moreover, there are some very awkward turns even on the national highways very vehicles horribly collide and lead to some deadly accidents.

Even the Quetta-Karachi National Highway is not highly risky not only for the public transport buses but also the heavy vehicles carrying goods across the country.
