CHAGI: The Rekodik Mining Company (RDMC) has bolstered its social footprint in Balochistan by inaugurating two key community projects—the Mushki Chah Community Health Clinic and the Nok Chah Primary School—under its Community Investment Program.
The projects were officially launched by RDMC General Manager Ryan Mitchell, who emphasized the company’s community-driven development model. He stated that initiatives are prioritized in consultation with local Community Development Committees to ensure they meet genuine needs and foster local ownership.
The Mushki Chah clinic is the third health facility established by RDMC in the region, following clinics in Hamay Gaon and Nokundi. It will focus primarily on maternal and child health, offering antenatal and postnatal care to improve health outcomes in remote areas. Muhammad Isa Tahir, RDMC Community Investment Lead, noted that these clinics, along with an existing mobile health unit serving over 20 villages, are expanding access to quality healthcare.
The newly inaugurated Nok Chah Primary School marks another step in RDMC’s education-focused efforts, which include upgrading infrastructure, providing learning materials, uniforms, and hiring qualified teachers. The inauguration was attended by students, parents, tribal elders, and local representatives.
Community representative Abdul Salam welcomed the initiatives, saying, “Education is the foundation for empowering our children and strengthening the future of our community.”
RDMC’s approach centers on sustainable, community-owned projects developed through close collaboration with local committees and partners, aiming for long-term social impact in its operational areas.
Meanwhile the Balochistan Governor Jafar Khan Mandokhel has emphasized the urgent need for a permanent government building for the National Highways and Motorways Police in the province, calling its current operation from a rented facility a major obstacle to road safety.
During a meeting with Motorway DIG Dr. Quraish Khan at the Governor House on Monday, Governor Mandokhel stressed that the lack of proper infrastructure hinders effective traffic management. He highlighted the critical issue of road fatalities, noting that thousands die in traffic accidents on Balochistan’s highways every year despite modern advancements.
