QUETTA: Residents held peaceful rallies in the districts of Dera Bugti and Harnai in Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan province to protest what they described as unprovoked aggression from Afghanistan.
Participants included members of civil society, local administration officials and large numbers of residents. Protesters chanted slogans expressing strong support for the Pakistan Army.
Rally organizers condemned the recent cross-border infiltration and voiced support for the country’s security forces in safeguarding national security.
Participants said they stand shoulder to shoulder with the Pakistan Army in the fight against militancy.
Across the country, citizens have organized similar demonstrations to condemn what they call provocations by the Afghan Taliban government and to express solidarity with Pakistan’s armed forces.
