Rajapaksa raises questions on bats used by Indian players

COLOMBO: Sri Lankan cricketer Bhanuka Rajapaksa has claimed that Indian players’ cricket bats are different from those used by other cricketers.

According to media reports, in a recent interview, Sri Lanka’s batter Bhanuka Rajapaksa made a controversial statement regarding the cricket bats used by Indian cricketers.

He claimed that Indian players are using bats that are far more powerful than even the best bats available in the open market.

Rajapaksa said that when the ball strikes these bats, it feels as though there is some special rubber layer or coating on the cricket bat that generates extra power.

He further stated that these cricket bats are not available for purchase by ordinary players, and it is well known within cricket circles that only a select few players have access to this facility.

According to Rajapaksa, this is the reason why Indian batters are able to hit big shots with relatively little effort.

Following his remarks, a debate has erupted among cricket fans and experts.

However, neither the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) nor any Indian player has issued an official response to the claim so far.
