Islamabad: A new spell of rainfall is set to begin across the country, including Balochistan, starting tomorrow.

According to the Meteorological Department, rain is expected in parts of Balochistan, Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Sindh from July 28 to 31.

Rain is likely to begin in Islamabad from the 28th, in Balochistan from the 29th, and in Sindh from the 30th to 31st of July.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has warned of a possible significant rise in water levels in the Jhelum and Chenab rivers.

Local streams and canals may also overflow, raising concerns about flash floods.

Low-lying urban areas could experience waterlogging, and landslides are anticipated in hilly regions.

Meanwhile, in Sukheke, Hafizabad, rainwater has not yet been drained from several villages even after 10 days, causing severe inconvenience due to disrupted road access.

In Kashmore, water levels in the Indus River have started to rise at Guddu Barrage, while fluctuations in water levels are ongoing at Taunsa Barrage.

In Layyah, floodwaters from the Indus River have submerged around 70 villages, prompting continued rescue and relief efforts by local authorities.
