Rain forecasted across the country including Balochistan

QUETTA: The weather department has forecasted heavy rains from 23rd to 27th August across country including many cities in Balochistan.

According to the reports after a long dry and hot weather in Balochistan, heavy rain is epected in many cities of the province.

Rain is forecasted in Quetta, Zhob, Shirani, Barkhan, Khuzdar, Qila Abudllah, Qila Saifullah, Panjgur and Kech.

According to the department, from August 22, monsoon winds will enter the upper regions with greater intensity, originating from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal.

Due to these rains, there is a risk of landslides in mountainous areas and urban flooding in low-lying regions.

From August 23 to 27, rainfall is expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Faisalabad, and Sargodha.

Heavy rainfall is also likely in Khushab, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Layyah, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Multan during the same period.

Between August 23 and 26, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Dera Ismail Khan, and Bajaur are also expected to receive rain.

The Meteorological Department further stated that from August 23 to 26, heavy rain accompanied by hailstorms is likely in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, Karachi is expected to receive rainfall from August 23 to 25.

Showers are also forecast for Sukkur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, Dadu, Jacobabad, and Jamshoro between August 23 and 25.

Additionally, Bhakkar, Layyah, Muzaffargarh, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, and Rahim Yar Khan are likely to witness rainfall during the same period.

The department warned of the possibility of flash flooding in Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Peshawar, Nowshera, Mardan, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Dir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir.
