ISLAMABAD: The fresh spell of rainfall has begun across various cities of Pakistan, prompting the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to issue an alert for more rain and snowfall in different regions of the country.
In this regard, as per the reports, several areas in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa experienced rainfall late into the night, bringing a noticeable change in weather conditions.
However, the rains also caused a tragic incident in Bannu, where a house roof collapsed due to heavy rainfall. As a result, three children lost their lives while two others were injured.
The NDMA has warned that the current weather system is likely to intensify in the coming days. The authority has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by rain in parts of Balochistan, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Meanwhile, snowfall is expected in Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, and the upper mountainous regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The NDMA has urged local authorities to stay alert and ensure necessary precautionary measures are in place to handle any emergencies.
In this sense, weather authorities in the United Arab Emirates have also issued alerts for further rainfall, indicating a broader regional weather pattern affecting multiple countries.
The residents are encouraged to stay informed through official channels and avoid unnecessary travel during severe weather conditions.
