Railways suspends Inter-Provincial train services to Balochistan over security concerns

QUETTA: Pakistan Railways has temporarily suspended several inter-provincial train services to and from Balochistan due to heightened security concerns.

Railway officials confirmed that the Jaffar Express running from Peshawar to Quetta has been stopped from August 10 to August 14, while its Quetta-to-Peshawar service will also remain suspended during this period.

Similarly, the Bolan Mail, operating between Karachi and Quetta, has been postponed until August 16.

This decision follows a recent bomb attack targeting the Jaffar Express in Mastung district. The explosion caused damage to the track but, fortunately, no casualties were reported. The incident is the latest in a series of blasts on railway tracks in Balochistan over the past few days.
