QUETTA: In a concerted effort to enforce court orders and address security concerns, the Quetta Traffic Police conducted a citywide operation on Saturday targeting vehicles with illegal tinted windows. The drive resulted in the issuance of 74 challans to offenders found violating the regulations.
The operation was carried out in strict compliance with directives from the High Court. Officials involved in the crackdown noted that excessively dark window tints can create unease and pose significant security concerns for the public, particularly given the prevailing security environment in the region.
Following the operation, citizens have been reminded to strictly adhere to court rulings and traffic regulations by refraining from using unauthorized window tints on their vehicles. The Traffic Police stressed that the rigorous enforcement of traffic rules is critical to safeguarding public safety and maintaining orderly conduct on Quetta’s roads. Authorities have indicated that such operations will continue to ensure full compliance with the law.
Last week Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic Quetta, Dr. Sami Malik, has announced a crackdown on vehicles with tinted glasses, fake and fancy number plates, and underage drivers across the city.
He made these remarks while addressing a meeting of Quetta Traffic Police officers, which was attended by all Circle SPs, DSPs, and other officials. Emphasizing zero tolerance for traffic violations, SSP Malik appealed to citizens to strictly follow traffic rules, avoid double and illegal parking, and cooperate in maintaining a safe and smooth flow of traffic.
Dr. Malik also issued special directives to improve traffic management at Burma Hotel and Koyla Phatak, key congestion points in the city. He informed that special teams of the traffic police are actively patrolling major roads and taking legal action against violators without discrimination.
