QUETTA: Commissioner Quetta Division Shahzeb Khan Kakar has directed a major escalation in operations to repatriate all illegally residing foreigners, ordering district administrations, police, FC, and FIA to launch a joint, intensified crackdown.
Chairing a review meeting on Tuesday, Commissioner Kakar mandated strict, increased checking at hotels and transport hubs across Quetta, Chaman, Killa Abdullah, and Pishin districts. He instructed daily data updates and timely reporting to ensure the “early repatriation of as many illegal residents as possible.”
Officials revealed that over 82,000 individuals have already been repatriated from the Quetta Division. Deputy Commissioner Quetta Mehrullah Badini reported over 30,000 sent back from the provincial capital, though operations recently slowed due to election duties. He announced checking in all four tehsils will now expand to four days weekly.
Significant progress was noted elsewhere. Deputy Commissioner Killa Abdullah stated more than 23,000 foreigners were deported, while Deputy Commissioner Pishin reported that approximately 34,000 of 35,000 residents from two major Afghan camps have been repatriated, with their shops sealed and demolished.
The meeting decided to conduct two major joint operations weekly to accelerate the process. A key challenge identified is some foreigners hiding in urban areas using fake identity cards. Authorities are preparing a new verification mechanism to counter this tactic.
Commissioner Kakar expressed confidence that coordinated efforts would ensure the complete repatriation of all illegal residents soon.
