QUETTA: Chief Secretary Balochistan, Shakeel Qadir Khan, has stated that the Quetta Development Package (QDP) is playing a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for the city’s residents. He emphasized that the package’s projects are crucial for providing easier access to basic amenities, education, healthcare, employment opportunities, and essential social services.
The CS made these remarks while presiding over a high-level meeting convened to review the progress of the Quetta Development Package. The meeting focused on assessing the advancement of priority projects and evaluating the implementation status of decisions made in the previous review session. He issued strict directives to all concerned authorities to ensure the timely completion of all ongoing development work, underscoring its significance for the province’s progress.
CS Shakeel Qadir Khan elaborated that the successful completion of these initiatives will lead to a further marked improvement in the standard of living across the province. He highlighted that the QDP is designed to promote sustainable development in critical sectors, which is expected to have a cascading positive effect on the region’s socio-economic landscape. These initiatives are projected to contribute to poverty reduction, economic stabilization, and overall social development, with benefits directly impacting the daily lives of citizens.
Beyond essential services, the development projects have also significantly enhanced the aesthetic appeal of the provincial capital. The package has contributed to a greener environment, modernized infrastructure, and elevated living standards for the people of Quetta. During the meeting, it was reported that significant progress has been made, with 12 development projects under the QDP already completed and six other major projects currently in progress.
Meanwhile Inspector General (IG) of Police Balochistan, Muhammad Tahir, has declared that the protection of citizens’ lives and property is the paramount mission of the police force. To fulfill this commitment, the police have launched a series of effective and coordinated operations against criminal elements across all ranges of the province, yielding significant results over the past week.
