QUETTA: The Balochistan Food Authority (BFA) has taken quick action in Saryab after reports emerged that several children fell ill due to consuming substandard food. The matter came to light when parents lodged complaints against food vendors on social media, prompting the authorities to launch an immediate investigation.
The team led by Director General BFA carried out an operation in the area, inspecting different food outlets. In this sense, a special medical team was formed by BMC to treat the affected children, with doctors confirming that food contamination was the primary cause of their illness.
The inspections revealed alarming lapses, including the use of expired products, unlabelled packaging, unhygienic storage, and inadequate cleanliness. In this regard, officials stated that strict action was initiated against bakery owners and food vendors who were found guilty of endangering public health.
The Director General BFA focused on that compromising on food safety is unacceptable and warned that no negligence would be tolerated.

The BFA also appealed to the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious food outlets through the authority’s helpline, assuring that quick action would follow.
