QESCO ensures uninterrupted power in Quetta during Ramazan

Crecent moon of Ramadan Sighted in Saudi Arabia

QUETTA: In a bid to provide maximum relief to consumers during the holy month of Ramazan, the Quetta Electric Supply Company (Qesco) has announced a comprehensive plan to ensure uninterrupted power supply, particularly during Sehr, Iftar, and Taraweeh prayers.

On the directives of Chief Executive Officer Qesco, Engineer Yousuf Shah Khan, a centralized regional control room has been established to monitor the situation round the clock. The control room, set up at the Power Distribution Center (PDC) at Qesco Headquarters, will operate under the supervision of the company’s General Managers and Chief Engineer to closely monitor the continuity and status of power supply during the sacred hours.

According to the official plan, there will be a complete suspension of load shedding in the provincial capital, Quetta city, during Sehr, Iftar, and Taraweeh. This facility will also be extended to all district headquarters outside Quetta, ensuring that worshipers and families can perform their religious duties and prepare meals without the inconvenience of power outages. However, the company clarified that rural feeders across the province will continue to receive electricity as per their previous scheduled timings.

To ensure swift action on consumer complaints, Qesco has formed special teams at the division and sub-division levels across all operation circles. These teams, working under the supervision of Superintending Engineers, have been tasked with addressing technical malfunctions, ensuring the timely replacement of transformers, and resolving individual consumer complaints in the shortest possible time.

For the convenience of the public, Qesco has activated multiple channels for lodging complaints. Consumers can report power outages or individual issues by:

· Dialing 118 directly.

· Sending an SMS with their electricity bill reference number to 8118.

· Calling the Central Complaint Cell at 0819201445 or their respective sub-division offices.

In a modern step to facilitate instant redressal, Qesco has also launched a dedicated WhatsApp service. Consumers can send a copy of their electricity bill along with their active mobile number to 03198088439. This will allow the company to accurately identify the consumer’s location and dispatch a team immediately to restore electricity.
