GWADAR: A grand celebration took place in Gwadar, Balochistan, to mark the success of Operation Bunyan Mursoos. People took to streets to honour the Pakistan Armed Forces and their historic victory against India in the battle for truth. Citizens showered soldiers with rose petals.
Protesters raised strong slogans against India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They argued that not only was India’s Rafale exposed, but its propaganda on Balochistan had also collapsed.
Meanwhile, the government, in recognition of the victory, announced May 16, 2025, as “Youm-e-Tashakkur” (Day of Gratitude) across the country.
The day will begin with Quran recitations and special prayers in mosques nationwide.
A 31-gun salute will be held in the federal capital, while provincial capitals will witness 21-gun salutes.
Special ceremonies of guard change will take place at Mazar-e-Quaid and Mazar-e-Iqbal.
Flag-raising ceremonies will be held in the federal and provincial capitals.
Floral tributes and prayer ceremonies will be held at Yadgar-e-Shuhada (Martyrs’ Monuments) across the country.
Officials will meet with families of the martyrs to pay homage to their sacrifices during Operation Bunyan Mursoos.
The main celebration will take place tonight at the Pakistan Monument in Islamabad.
Prominent personalities from all walks of life will attend. The Prime Minister will be the chief guest. The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and heads of the Armed Forces will also participate.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan strongly reacted to Indian aggression and shot down its five fighter jets, including two Rafales. Pakistan also struck over 30 Indian military installations and airbases in retaliation.
