ISLAMABAD: Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, commended the nation’s security forces on Saturday for the successful conclusion of a major counter-terrorism operation in Balochistan, declaring that the “enemies of Pakistan will never succeed.”
In a statement issued from the capital, the PTI leader paid a high tribute to the armed forces for “destroying the terrorists of Fitna-ul-Hindustan,” a term used by the military to denote alleged Indian-sponsored militant groups. His remarks follow an official announcement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) detailing the two-day operation.
“On successfully completing the operation against terrorists in Balochistan… I pay tribute to the security forces,” Barrister Gohar stated. He extended his prayers for the soldiers who lost their lives in the intense fighting, expressing hope that the “martyred soldiers [would] attain high ranks in heaven.”
The ISPR had reported that security forces neutralized 133 terrorists over two days of operations across the province. In the most recent engagements, 92 “miscreants,” including three suicide bombers, were killed. The military success came at a significant cost, with fifteen soldiers embracing martyrdom during the clearance operations.
The PTI Chairman’s statement strikes a note of national unity on security matters, aligning his party with the official military narrative that attributes the recent wave of violence in Balochistan to externally sponsored terrorism. By framing the outcome as a defeat for Pakistan’s enemies, the political message reinforces state institutions amid ongoing security challenges.
The cross-party acknowledgment of the operation’s success highlights a rare consensus in the political landscape regarding the threat posed by terrorism and the role of the security forces in confronting it.
