Islamabad: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced that there will be no internet shutdown tomorrow.
News regarding any internet suspension is misleading and baseless.
Internet services will continue without any interruption.
According to PTA officials, the repair work on the marine cable is a routine matter.
Despite the repair activities, internet connectivity will remain fully operational and uninterrupted.
Pakistan continues to face frequent and sometimes severe internet disruptions including full blackouts severe throttling regional outages and degraded international speeds. These issues have become a regular part of digital life especially since 2022.
The interruptions arise mainly from two broad categories. First technical vulnerabilities particularly damage to submarine cables. Pakistan depends almost entirely on a small number of undersea cables for global connectivity.
These cables frequently suffer cuts in high-risk areas such as the Red Sea near Jeddah and parts of the Arabian Sea usually due to ship anchors fishing activity or natural seabed shifts.
When a major cable is cut total international capacity can drop significantly forcing all traffic onto the remaining cables which leads to extreme congestion massive latency increases and very slow speeds.
Repair operations often take several weeks to months because of the need for specialized vessels and delays caused by regional geopolitics.
