PSL 10 Points Table: Quetta Gladiators ascend to top spot

PSL 10 Points Table: Quetta Gladiators Rise to the Top After Thrilling Win Over Islamabad United
Karachi – Following their thrilling 2-wicket victory over Islamabad United, Quetta Gladiators have moved to the top of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 points table. With 11 points from 8 matches, Quetta now leads the standings as the tournament approaches its final stretch before the playoffs.

Despite the loss, Islamabad United remain firmly in second place with 10 points from their 8 games.

Quetta’s success this season has been driven by their bowling attack, which has consistently delivered under pressure. Mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed and medium pacer Faheem Ashraf are currently the joint leading wicket-takers for the team, with 12 wickets each, while Khurram Shahzad has made a strong impact with 10 wickets to his name.

In the high-stakes clash played at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, Quetta Gladiators elected to field after winning the toss. Islamabad United posted a total of 157 for 9 in their 20 overs. Mohammad Nawaz top-scored with 49, and Sahibzada Farhan added a valuable 39, but the innings lacked momentum in the later stages due to disciplined bowling from Quetta. Quetta’s chase saw moments of tension, but they reached the target of 158 runs with one ball to spare and two wickets in hand. Rilee Rossouw contributed a crucial 27 runs, helping to stabilize the innings during a key phase.

The Gladiators are set to face Islamabad United once again on Wednesday, while their final group-stage match will be against Multan Sultans on Sunday, in what promises to be a decisive clash ahead of the PSL 10 playoffs.
