ISLAMABAD: The video attempts to suggest a false narrative shared by Zalmay Khalilzad. This video shows a fabricated and false narrative built against the security forces. This is a misleading and dangerous assertion that misrepresents the consistent position of the Pakistan Armed Forces. Additionally, the Pakistan Army always stands for peace and security for Balochistan, and it is prepared for any type the worst-case scenario.
The Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP) has sparked renewed concern over the security dynamics in Balochistan, as the militant group publicly declared its intention to target Baloch nationalist outfits, notably the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). The video, widely condemned for its violent content and extremist rhetoric, mentions the growing complexity of threats in the region.
In this sense, the ISKP claims to be operating training camps in the mountainous areas of Balochistan. The group also acknowledges a deadly assault on one of its camps in mid-March, allegedly carried out by Baloch nationalist militants, resulting in the deaths of around 30 ISKP fighters.
It is imperative to reassert that the BLA is a proscribed terrorist organization, recognized as such not only by the government but also by numerous international institutions, including the United Nations.
For years, the BLA has been involved in violent insurgencies, targeting both civilians and state institutions, destabilizing the region, and undermining national sovereignty.
On the contrary, the Pakistan Army remains firmly committed to maintaining peace and security in Balochistan. It has consistently worked alongside the local population, launching development projects, improving infrastructure, and safeguarding the lives of citizens.
