Balochistan Assembly approves Prince Fahad Hospital bill

Quetta – The Balochistan Assembly has approved the draft bill related to Prince Fahad Hospital along with the Balochistan Assembly Privileges (Amendment) Bill.

The legislation was presented in the House by Provincial Health Minister Bakht Kakar.

During the session, MPA Zahid Reki remarked that the district of Washuk has been overlooked in the allocation of sports funds.

Similarly, Zafar Agha raised a point of order, noting that Pishin and Killa Abdullah had also been deprived of such funds.

In response, Advisor on Sports Meena Majeed stated that a comprehensive sports calendar is prepared to ensure proper planning of sporting activities.

Provincial Sports Minister Abdul Rehman Khetran added that boxing competitions were recently organized, alongside cricket and football tournaments, which he described as commendable efforts.

On the occasion, Provincial Minister Zahoor Buledi emphasized that the government has not shown any discrimination in the distribution of funds.

He pointed out that Zamrak Khan Achakzai is a member of the PSDP Committee and assured that development is a collective need, stressing that funds will be allocated wherever required.

Balochistan, the largest province of Pakistan in terms of area, has long suffered from lack of sports infrastructure and opportunities, especially in its underdeveloped districts.

While Quetta enjoys relatively better facilities, many other regions remain deprived. Districts such as Washuk, Pishin, Killa Abdullah, Awaran, Panjgur, and Khuzdar are among the most neglected when it comes to allocation of sports funds.

These areas have immense raw talent in football, boxing, cricket, and traditional sports, but limited resources prevent youth from showcasing their skills at provincial or national levels.

The absence of proper playgrounds, coaching academies, and training equipment forces many talented youngsters to abandon sports altogether.

Investing in these districts would not only promote healthy activities but also create opportunities for youth empowerment, social cohesion, and a positive image of Balochistan.
