Prime Minister’s Decision Not to Increase fuel Prices

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that the government will keep the prices of petroleum products unchanged.

He stated that a proposal was presented to increase the price of petrol by Rs95 per litre and diesel by Rs203 per litre, which he outright rejected.

The Prime Minister said that Pakistan is currently playing an important role on two major fronts. On the diplomatic front, Pakistan is working day and night to establish peace in the region. He added that the country is making strenuous efforts to save regional countries from the scourge of destructive war and to pave the way for lasting peace.

He emphasized that Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives are in accordance with the will of Allah and in the best interest of the Muslim Ummah. “Regardless of sect or school of thought, every heart holds the same desire for peace and tranquility,” he said.

The Prime Minister further mentioned that he has held multiple conversations with the heads of regional countries. He highlighted that Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal are playing a key role in efforts for regional peace, while Pakistan continues to make strong mediation efforts.
