ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari awarded Hilal-e-Jurat to Field Marshal Asim Munir and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu for their bravery, military expertise, and unwavering patriotism in leading the nation through a critical phase during the Marka e Haq, on Thursday.
According to details, a prestigious award ceremony was held at Aiwan-e-Sadr to confer high honors on civil and military figures in recognition of their valuable services to the country.
The President awarded Nishan-e-Imtiaz to Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad while Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf was awarded Nishan-e-Imtiaz.
President Asif Zardari also awarded Nishan-e-Imtiaz to Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Information Minister Atta Tarar and Defense Minister Khawaja Asif. Members of the diplomatic delegation formed by the Prime Minister were awarded the Hilal-e-Imtiaz. Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto was awarded the Nishan-e-Imtiaz, Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal was also awarded the Nishan-e-Imtiaz.
DG ISI Lieutenant General Muhammad Asim Malik and Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry were awarded the award. Vice Admiral Raja Rab Nawaz, Rear Admiral Abdul Muneeb were awarded the award. Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry was awarded the award.
Lieutenant General Shahid Imtiaz, Lieutenant General Syed Aamir Raza, Lieutenant General Noman Zakaria, Lieutenant General Noman Zakaria were awarded the award. Sepoy Nisar Ali Shaheed was awarded the Sitara Basalat, Captain Ali Hassan was awarded the Tamgha Jurat.
Sepoy Adeel Akbar Shaheed, Lance Naik Ikramullah Shaheed, Lance Havaldar Amir Shiraz Shaheed were awarded the Medal of Courage. Squadron Leader Muhammad Ashab, Squadron Leader Fida Muhammad Khan, Squadron Leader Talal Hassan were awarded the Star of Courage.
Squadron Leader Muhammad Hassan Anis, Squadron Leader Muhammad Osama Ashfaq, Squadron Leader Muhammad Yousuf Khan, Squadron Leader Muhammad Osama Ashfaq, Wing Commander Hamada Bin Masood, Wing Commander Bilal Raza were awarded the Star of Courage.
