Power transfers after Venezuelan President’s arrests

CARACUS: Venezuela’s Supreme Court has appointed Vice President Delcy Rodríguez as the country’s interim president following the arrest of President Nicolás Maduro.

According to the court’s ruling, Delcy Rodríguez will assume all presidential powers, duties, and responsibilities on a temporary basis to maintain continuity in state administration and ensure national defense.

The court emphasized in its decision that Maduro has not been permanently removed from office, as constitutionally, such a step would require holding elections within 30 days.

This development comes at a time when U.S. forces conducted an operation in the capital Caracas, arresting President Nicolas Maduro and transferring him to the United States.

Italy and France have expressed their support to the US move in Venezuela.

The Italian and the French government have demanded a peaceful transfer of the regime in Venezuela that truly represents the country.

On the other hand, a shocking revelation says that as many as 40 people including the military personnel dies during the United States military attacks on Venezuela on the previous night.

Meanwhile, Nicolas Maduro, the former Venezuelan President will be brought to the New York court for the hearing of the drugs and the militancy cases.
