QUETTA: Former senator Nawabzada Haji Lashkari Raisani has urged the people of Balochistan to take control of their land and future. He said Balochistan’s problems must be solved through unity, not miracles.
Speaking at Sarawan House on Tuesday, Raisani criticized both past and present assemblies. He said the previous assembly surrendered Reko Diq. Now, the current one is auctioning off Balochistan’s remaining resources through the Mines and Minerals Act.
“If these political criminals aren’t stopped, our people will remain in slavery and poverty for centuries,” he warned.
Raisani stressed that sincere leaders set collective principles to protect national interests. He urged Balochistan’s people to rely on themselves, not wait for divine intervention.
He also criticized the secret in-camera session of the Assembly held on December 28, 2021. He said the parties involved should have rejected the Reko Diq deal instead of approving it in secrecy. “If they had resisted, today’s assembly wouldn’t be selling off every inch of land,” he added.
Raisani said Balochistan’s people must confront those exploiting the province. “Our people have suffered injustice and insecurity for too long,” he said. He blamed today’s political parties for siding with powerful lobbies and ignoring committed workers.
He also claimed that non-locals and even foreigners now sit in parliament. “These parties no longer represent the people of Balochistan,” he stated.
Raisani called on every citizen to rise beyond parliamentary politics and defend Balochistan’s rights. “If we don’t unite intellectually and politically, future generations will suffer under fake laws and brutal state power,” he said.
He accused political parties of focusing only on power and privileges. “All they want is PSDP money,” he said. “They use development schemes to cover up looting, while powerful groups rob Balochistan of trillions in natural wealth.”
He ended by urging the people to wake up. “This land belongs to you, not to outsiders or dummy legislators.”
