GWADAR: Police constable was martyred and three others injured after unidentified militants threw a hand grenade and opened fire near Bilal Mosque on Syed Hashmi Avenue in Gwadar.
As per the Gwadar Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Zia Mandokhail, the attackers targeted a residential quarter housing citizens from Punjab with a hand grenade, as it is reported by The Dawn
In addition, Constable Muhammad Khamari engaged the fleeing militants, resulting in an exchange of fire.
During the confrontation, one assailant, identified as Shah Jahan, was neutralized, whereas another, Shahzad, sustained serious injuries.
Furthermore, this latest incident comes amid growing instability in Balochistan, where the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has intensified its violent campaign against the state.
The attack near the mosque is seen by security analysts as part of a broader pattern of subversive activity designed to create fear, disrupt peace, and sabotage development in the region.
