QUETTA: Police have launched a new campaign targeting motorcyclists who cover their faces with shawls (locally known as patto) in the provincial capital of Balochistan.
Police officials informed that covering the face while riding a motorcycle has been banned in Quetta.
According to details, Police started crackdown against those who covered their faces while riding motorcycles. Police stopping motorcyclists on various roads of the city and removing their shawls.
While talking to local Police officials claimed that many criminals have been using face coverings to hide their identity during crimes.
Police started the campaign on the directives of senior police officials, as part of efforts to improve law and order in the city.

However, citizens have expressed frustration, saying they cover their faces to protect themselves from extreme heat and dust. Some have complained that police are stopping them frequently and causing unnecessary trouble.
