QUETTA: The Prime Minister Youth Programme (PMYP), in collaboration with Lahore Qalandars, will launch cricket talent hunt trials in Balochistan on June 27. This initiative aims to discover and train young cricketers from across the province.
The four-day trials will run from June 27 to 30 at the BUITEMS cricket ground in Quetta. The Higher Education Commission (HEC), PMYP, Lahore Qalandars, and BUITEMS are jointly organising the event.
Young players from various districts of Balochistan will participate. Organizers aim to find hidden talent, offer professional training, and prepare youth for national and international cricket.
Chairman PMYP, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, said PMYP is dedicated to empowering youth in all sectors, including sports, IT, aerospace, and agriculture. He said that inclusive development depends on giving equal opportunities to young people in every region.
“I have no doubt Balochistan’s youth will shine and help shape Pakistan’s future,” he added.
Chairman HEC, Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, praised the talent of Balochistan’s youth. He said HEC is working to bring this talent into the national spotlight through education and sports.
“These trials prove that universities and the government are united in promoting sports,” he said.
He added that university students proudly represent Pakistan not only in academics but also in global sports.
