ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has reiterated its firm and unwavering commitment to the security of Saudi Arabia, stating that it will stand with the Kingdom in “all circumstances.”
In an interview with an international journal, the Prime Minister’s PM Spokesperson for Foreign Media, Musharraf Zaidi, affirmed that there is “no question” about Pakistan’s support for Saudi Arabia. “We will stand with Saudi Arabia at all times and in all circumstances, and will help Saudi Arabia in all circumstances if needed,” Zaidi stated.
The Spokesperson emphasized that the deep-rooted security cooperation between the two nations is not a new development, but a longstanding tradition of looking after each other’s defense interests. He revealed that discussions on enhancing joint defense measures have recently taken place at a high level. According to Zaidi, a high-ranking official, referred to as the Field Marshal, met with the Saudi Defense Minister in Riyadh to deliberate on these matters.
In addition to the strong ties with Riyadh, Pakistan is also maintaining diplomatic engagement with Tehran. Spokesperson Zaidi confirmed that Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has been in contact with his Iranian counterpart since the beginning of the recent regional situation, underscoring Pakistan’s commitment to dialogue and communication with all stakeholders.
