SIALKOT: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that, by the grace of Allah, Pakistan’s armed forces have shattered India’s arrogance.
He warned that if India dares to block water or repeat any form of aggression, Pakistan will respond with even greater force, leaving nothing behind.
Addressing officers and soldiers during his visit to the Sialkot-Pasrur cantonment, he said Indian Prime Minister Modi was proud of his military hardware, but Pakistan’s forces reduced it to dust through their courage and faith.
The Prime Minister acknowledged that the enemy is larger in numbers and possesses billions of dollars’ worth of weaponry, but despite this, Pakistan’s forces turned that pride into humiliation.
Praising the armed forces, he said they broke the enemy’s teeth and successfully defended every post. He lauded the destruction of enemy targets on land and in the air, calling it an extraordinary feat.
He said the world, including friends and foes alike, now admits that India has been left behind.
The recent conflict demonstrated Pakistan’s strength in conventional warfare and technical prowess. Analysts and experts, he noted, will write articles and books about how this war was fought.
He extended congratulations on behalf of the 240 million people of Pakistan to Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff General Sahir Shamshad, Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Babar, Naval Chief Naveed Ashraf, and the personnel of all three armed forces.
He praised General Asim Munir for his brave and wise strategic leadership during the conflict, stating that he personally witnessed the General’s efforts.
He expressed pride in the Air Chief’s achievements, highlighting their impressive performance on May 9 and 10. Shehbaz Sharif said that the military leadership has become the pride of the nation, and he witnessed no shortcomings in their command.
The Prime Minister declared that the enemy was shaken by the events of May 9 and 10, while Pakistan’s allies were inspired.
He said this historic success was previously only imagined in books and dreams. He claimed that through this victory, Pakistan avenged 1971, and added that if India tries to block water under the Indus Waters Treaty, Pakistani forces will ensure the nation’s right with bravery and resolve.
He demanded answers from Modi about India’s role in training Mukti Bahini in 1971, the Samjhauta Express attack, and the recent Jaffer Express tragedy in Balochistan, pointing out links to India. He reminded Modi of Kulbhushan Jadhav’s espionage, emphasizing that Pakistan has already sacrificed 90,000 lives and suffered $150 billion in losses in its war against terrorism.
The Prime Minister reiterated that Pakistan desires peace and prosperity in the region, but India must not mistake this for weakness.
He cautioned India not to even think about disturbing the Indus Waters Treaty and said real peace would come through resolving the Kashmir issue. He warned Modi that if any new act of aggression occurs, Pakistan’s response will be even more decisive.
Finally, Shehbaz Sharif offered to engage in talks with India over Kashmir to turn the region into a haven of peace, declaring that Pakistan is ready for both negotiations and war.
